gpib cabling topology

We have two GPIB instruments controlled from one computer. Does it matter that both the cables start from the computer (Star topology) Or should it be daisy chained from one instrument to the other?

Hello John,

I never had any problems with the topology of the GPIB cables. I even mixed both types with up to 10 devices. I only had problems with the cables themself (bad/broken contacts...).

As long as you don't exceed the max cable length (20m) it shouldn't matter.
