fast forward in mediaplayer problem

Hi all,


I made a small labview .VI to play a .avi file using a ActiveX Mediaplayer function.. everything works OK except:


-fast forward, fast backward don't work
-on a multi monitor system, the screen stays black, no picture

Any ideas from you guys? Highly appriciated!

If you have the ActiveX control, then this shouldn't be a LV problem, but a media player problem.
I seem to recall that for a very long time media player itself didn't respond to FF and REW, but I checked now in version 10 and it seems to work. Does it work for you in media player? Does it work in other apps (let's say embedded into Powerpoint)?

As for the black screen, on occasion, WMP displays a black square instead of the video when displaying on multiple screens. I have seen it when running a movie in powerpoint and displaying it from a laptop and a projector at the same time. I think this is also an issue with WMP and may be caused by lack of memory or video card issues.

Thanks for your reply. Indeed it could be a WinMediaPlayer issue and not related to labview at all. I will try your suggestions and we'll see.
