Dear All,
I am having a strange error on a .VI that used to run. I cannot figure out what is going
on. I have attached an image of the VI. When clicking "pulse" I get
-200477
Measurements: specified operation cannot be performed when there are no devices in task.
For technical reasons its labview 8.5. Any support from the forum would be very highly appreciated.
Best,
Theis

A cell phone image of your computer screen (turned 90°) showing four DAQ Assistant nodes without any configuration information or description of the hardware and hardware drivers installed.
Not helpful! We could guess! But even then with the 90° twist even those guesses could be imaginary.
Hey, maybe the device got lost or broken in the last decade and a half. Is it still responding to a self test? Does it show up in MAX? How long ago did it work?
Don't try to fudge the reasons for using LabVIEW 8.5. Technically, there is no good reason for it.

Dear Jay,
Thanks so much for responding! I am an sorry for not complying with the proper protocol.
I really appreciate your help and all of what you say is spot on 🙂 I have added a new and higher resolved photo that hopefully is roted correctly this time.
It has been years since it ran. My point was just that it is not a coding issue on my side
(as you can tell I am a newbie). It appears under COM1 one where I plugged it in in max. And it says that "the static device is working properly".
Again - thanks so much for your time. I know my post must have looked terrible but I really need to get the issue sorted out.
Best,
Theis

No trouble with newbie mistakes(I was once one too)
You forgot the attachment but, a screen print beats a photo any day! And, if you actually attach the vi itself, we can see the code that hides under the DAQ Assistant Express vis
I don't believe any DAQmx device ever showed up as a COM device. In fact, I am certain none ever has! So, I guess that the DAQmx device may have been replaced without updating the MAX Alias that your vi is using.
You still need to tell us what Hardware is expected and that only exists in the DAQ Assistant Configurations so, code is required by us to help you.

Dear Jay,
You made one comment on the com vs daq appearence that made me realize where I had gone wrong. Essentially, I just had to connect via daq. Indeed, there was appropriate hardware
in the vicinity of the device. SO - problem solved. Thanks a lot for your support.
