error generating a source distribution

I get the following error when generating a source distribution in LabView 8.6:

 

Error 1 occurred at AB_Destination.lvclass:Copy_File.vi -> AB_Source.lvclass:Copy_SourceItem.vi -> AB_Build.lvclass:Copy_Files.vi -> AB_Build.lvclass:Build.vi -> AB_Build.lvclass:Build_from_Wizard.vi -> AB_UI_FRAMEWORK.vi -> AB_Item_OnDoProperties.vi -> AB_Item_OnDoProperties.vi.ProxyCaller

Hi RBFOLS,

 

Thanks for the post and I hope your well.

 

Have you been moving VIs around since you last made the build / have you taken some VIs from an a different version of LabVIEW?

 

I would recommend deleteing the build specifications and all files created by builds thus far. I would then mass compile the llb (VIs your using) Tools » Advanced » Mass Compile.

 

 This error can be caused if you have named your executable with an invalid file name character such as a carriage return, or any of the following characters: \ / : * ? " < > |. If the file name you specified contains one of these characters, remove it and you should be able to build your executable without a problem.

 

Another point - what path names are you using, be sure to you the correct paths. 

 

If no joys, was that the complete error message?

 

Remember, if your dynamically calling any VIs you must include them manually in the Support VIs.

Thanks for your heads up, I did and it was, I moved a sub vi and did not open the main vi before I tried to generate a source distribution.  It is great that someone knows what they are doing.
