dsc - detection of data changes by throwing events

Hi,

Is there any way that DSC will throw an event whenever the OPC server data changes. The purpose is to help me use dotnet to capture data from various tags this way and to store them in my RDBMS for further processing.

While NI's OPC server is pretty fast in updating as per data changes, I'm unable to make Kepware's Ex V4 go faster than one update in 16 minutes! I've verified this with two laptops having identical OPC server settings and CPU:3GHz, 1GB RAM. Unfortunately NIs front ends (menu bar captions, etc), though professional are totally different from my requirements.

Settings: Update rate: 50 ms, update interval: 250 ms, tag scan rate: 100ms. The performance does not change whether or not the OPC compliance setting: Return all items in a single call back, is set on Kep. Hence since NI OPC is fast and DSC is faster than Data sockets, I'd like to get the data if events are thrown when OPC server data changes.

Thanks in advance,

Paul
