display custom time-stamps on a graph

I have an application that reads data from a database and then plots it on a graph chart.

Data comes in the format

2008-01-01 1.5

2008-01-02,

maybe because of slow internet connection or long response times of the NI server?
In each thread you were 1 min faster than me because of loading times
