There is no such thing as a "normal control". There are many different numeric controls and indicators, just choose what is most appropriate for your front panel controls.

Some numerics (such as sliders, tanks, gauges, etc) let you show an additional digital control for cases you want to type in an exact number or dispay the value digitally.

If this does not answer your question, try to be a bit more specific or even add an image. 🙂

Your question is still unclear.

In any case, there is no "digital indicator". As Altenbach said, some numeric controls have the option of displaying the value as both a digital control and a graphical representation of that value, but they are both numeric controls which simply hold numbers.

If this still doesn't help you, you should upload a VI which shows which controls you are refering to.

To learn more about LabVIEW, I suggest you try searching this site and google for LabVIEW tutorials. Here, here, here, here and here are a few you can start with and here are some tutorial videos. You can also contact your local NI office and join one of their courses.
In addition, I suggest you read the LabVIEW style guide and the LabVIEW user manual (Help>>Search the LabVIEW Bookshelf).

Digital controls and indicators use numbers(digits) to show the value, instead of using graphical representation(sliders, gauges, dials).

Exactly where do you find a 'digital' control/indicator? There is no control of that name on any of my palettes. Could you actually mean the dialog numeric or the digital waveform? No one knows what you are refering to.

Exercise 7-3 File Reader.vi

Objective: To read data from a file.

You will build a VI that reads the file created in the previous exercise and

displays the information read in a string indicator if the user

s password

matches the specified password from the Build String VI.

......................................

End of Exercise 7-3

Challenge Problem in Labview Basics-1

Modify the VI so that the number is parsed and displayed in a digital

indicator. After you have finished, save and close the VI.

I have found out the digital indicator in the above challenge problem in the Labview Basics-1 material and i got this query.

It's just a numeric indicator. That's pretty obvious since the excecise wants you to display a number.. You should have posted this problem in the first place and a lot of confusion (and multiple answers) would have been avoided.
