Actually, I just talked to my supervisor. He's not happy. lol...

I'll try to fix it on my own but if anyone stumbles upon this post,

what Donald did in saveclock6_mod2.vi is perfectly what I wanted...but my supervisor prefers it in this type of format:

TIME DATE Random number
TIME DATE Random number
TIME DATE Random number
TIME DATE Random number
TIME DATE Random number
TIME DATE Random number



Type output.

The out put now is such that:

Date Date:
Time Time:
RANDOM NUMBER RANDOM NUMBER

etc...

before transposing it was


Date
Time
RANDOM NUMBER
Date
Time
RANDOM NUMBER

etc...

I've been playing with deleting rows/columns and rotating them with only partial success. Any help is welcome.

Configuring the structure of a spreadsheet file can be quite confusing, especially if you need the data saved in rows, as you originally thought your boss wanted. Now, columns are much easier to deal with, so my recommendation is doing something like this if you don't have to save to file continuously:



Hope this makes your boss happy - it definitely creates the type of data that you requested:

1:17:57 AM 6/30/2005 0.637581
1:17:57 AM 6/30/2005 0.549127
1:17:57 AM 6/30/2005 0.477390
1:17:57 AM 6/30/2005 0.418013

Oh, since I'm at it, I was wondering if it was possible to add a header to this string format (like u did).

I can manage it since it's an array in the your "mod2" vi... probably the same way: recreating an array outside the loop...

and this is the one I was fixing from yesterday.

I was in the process of trying to add a counter using a formula node but that kinda failed... If you have any suggestions.... What I was doing was that I'm trying to add a counter such as:

1. date time
2. date time
3. date time

etc...

since I dont have a for loop or while loop, there are no iterations to use.. so i tried using a formula node. doesnt really work.

Just use the loop you have. I do not have LV6.1 so I cannot easily modify your VI. The attached VI shows how to use a shift register to create a row counter.
