Hi ,
I am labview learner , and i need to do few basic Hardware related projects . i am not in a position to by NI daq card since i cannot afford it , can any one sugest me how i cannot my hard ware to lap top , is it possible to use serial port directly , since my laptop has serial port , or can i use the blut tooth techology , since my lap top has that also ,

Serial Port is a great way to go for beiginners if you have one. It'll give practice with VISA, sending commands, parsing strings, etc. You can buy a cheap RS232 (serial) device on ebay, such as a relay board. Send commands to it and watch/listen for the relays to click. You could get a generic relay card for less than $100.
USB is nice, but requires a layer of driver(s). I just think the serial port is the easiest way to get started.
You can also hook hardware to your PCMCIA slot, but now we're talking $$$.
