How about some more information?

Operating system? LabVIEW version? Does it work if you select it from the menu? Does it work if you open the file directly from disk? Does it work if you right-click on a function and select "Help"?

Oopps, sorry.  Thought that after filling in all the info on the NI form, it would show here.

I'm using 8.6 on XP sp3.  Trying [ctrl][?] fails, so does [alt][h][s], and the equivalent mouse clicks.

By "fail", I mean that a Window titled "LabVIEW Help" appears, with a "document and yellow question mark" icon, but the window content is completely white, and must be forcibly closed using "end task".

I don't think I've ever seen that before. Can you post a screenshot of what the window looks like? Please post PNG/JPEG/GIF files, not BMP files (and don't simply rename a .bmp file to .png or whatever).

Here's a screenshot.  For the record, I've fixed this problem once before, by reinstalling / repairing a number of things: LabVIEW (and it's gazillion components), Visual Studio 2005, MSDN library, Document Viewer, etc.

I just can't remember which one component to reinstall to effect the repair, and reinstalling everything takes the better part of a day.

What is "Document Viewer"? That sounds like a third-party app. It appears that the standard HTML Help application files may be screwed up. Do you see this happening with any .chm file?

Try the diagnostics available here to check them out. If that doesn't work try some of the other things mentioned in reply #4 of this thread.
