Did you mean:

create executables with dasylab

Hi I am new to this,

I am looking to purchase a simple software package and have a few questions. (I have been looking at Dasylab lite and basic)

I have downloaded a dasylab evaluation package and found it very intuiative, I have made the program I want and it all work fine and looks great. (Basically just a program that has a series of sliders displayed on a touchscreen, and has the movements plotted on a trace with event markers etc and saves data in excel.

But before I buy the software, I want to be sure its the right package for me so...

How many PC's can I install the software on, I would like to use my work desktop, home desktop and laptop to create programs but dont want to buy 3 lots of software, does it just require a dongle etc?

Can I create executable (I think thats the correct word) files so it can be installed and used on seperate PC's not running Dasylab (and PDA at somepoint)

Hope you can help

Hi Phil,

DasyLAB is a great package but I don't belive it is the correct development tool for you.  What I would recomend you to choose is LabVIEW, a garphical programming language designed for scientists and engineers.    With LabVIEW you can very easily and quickly build a program which can acquire, analyse and present.

LabVIEW has many other features one of which includes the ability to build .exe applications.  Once you finish creating your application you can use a wizard to creat your exe.

Later on if you decide to create a PDA application you will have the option of getting LabVIEW's PDA module which will allow you to create PDA applications.  A great benefit of using this is you won't have to learn a new programming environment.  You can create your application as you would in LabVIEW and then target your PDA.  LabVIEW will deploy your existing code to your PDA.

Please see the following links to learn more and if you have any further questions please reply.
