crash when using the positioning tool and scrollbars

I'm experiencing some annoying crashes when using Labview.
Labview usually hangs in the following two instances:
-Using the scrollbars in the diagram window. Restarting Labview and
executing the same manouvre causes the same crash. Scrolling to the
same location with a 'detour' sometimes works.
- Moving the positioning tool in the front panel. When the tool is
positioned over a control or text, and the fat borders appear to
indicate that the tool can be used, this sometimes causes a crash.
This crash can also be reproduced after restarting.

From these symptoms it looks as if the problem has someting to do with
graphics: the crashes occur when someting is drawn or redrawn on the
screen.

Can anyone help
me? Thanks!

Erwin.

Difficult to say much from this info, but graphics is certainly a
possibility. If you're using a cheap generic VGA card and can't get any new
drivers for it, I'd consider trashing it and getting a better one. If you
HAVE a better one, update the drivers. You could also try turning off the
graphics acceleration in Windows, which sometimes improves compatibility.

The possibility of a Windows DLL (assuming you ARE using Windows!) going
corrupt can't be ruled out, but a complete reinstall may cost more (in time)
than a new VGA card.

This of course assumes your Labview installation is OK.. have you
successfully insta
lled it on other machines and gotten it to work?

It a Matrox card, not bad, i think.

Correct, sorry, forgot to mention the OS.

It works fine on an o
lder machine with less memory and a ulta-cheap
VGA card.

But... it works fine now. Here's what i tried:
I replaced the Matox VGA card drivers by the standard windows VGA
driver. As this only supported 16 colors, I changed it back later. And
now labview works fine!. In essence nothing changed, as i've used no
setup disks, only the files that were already in the system directory.
The only thing that has changed is that the Windows default values for
font size, taskbar size etc have returned. These were set larger by a
previous user (i think with bad eyesight).

Thanks for the info!
