converting characters to numbers

VISA Read reads the data in ASCII format and outputs them as characters. I however would like to have them in DBL formart. How do I convert?

try using the scan from string.vi (Functions --> String)

Thank you for contacting National Instruments.

You may also be interested in the Decimal String to Number function located on the All Functions >> String >> String/Number Conversion palette. Either solution will work fine.
