control instruments visa

I have old measuring equipment I control it via GPIB cable. I use ViSA in Labview.
For each voltage value, I have to do a sweep. I use a for  loop.

I don't know why every time I take a measurement with several measurement points (voltage point) or a slow measurement ( voltage values) I lose control of the instrument and I have to reset the equipment.

Do you have a solution?

Possibly your code (unknown, as you haven't posted it) or your instrument (also unknown, as you haven't identified it) are faulty.  Have you considered hiring an expert to help you?  Note -- you'll have to provide her (or him) more data than you've given us ...

Not without at least knowing the make and model of this old equipment and seeing some of your code that is causing the undesired behavior.
