contecting a spectrum analyzer to my computer

Help, I need to connect an HP spectrum analyzer to my computer. Do I need
a GPIB converter to a serial port? How can I connect it to my computer? Then
I need to be able to see the display of the spec analyzer on the computer.
Help please!!

NI sell several GPIB boards. The drivers are included with LabVIEW 4.0 and
above. I use a PCGPIB Card in my laptop. It works very well.
As for displaying the spec analyzer on your computer, you'll have to break
out the spec anl manuals and find the proper HPIB codes. On the analyzers
I've programmed, there is a code to have the amplitude data streamed to
your computer and a code to have the frequency data streamed to your
computer. There are also ASCII formats and binary formats. Binary is
fastest. I normally set these values in arrays and then send them to an XY
Graph. Good luck.
