confused between terminal block && DAQ device

Hi i am a bit confused now after reading some chapters in LV between terminal block && DAQ device
i have  NI eDAQ-9172 so this is my Daq device ?
and i have modules like module NI9205 so is this my terminal block ?

No. The 9172 is a chassis that you plug cDAQ modules (like the 9205) into. The chassis provides power for the modules and a USB connection to the pc (for controlling the modules). The 9205 is a DAQ device with a connector on the front where you would wire your signals to.

If you look here at the unit at the right, it has a built-in terminal block for connecting wires. NI sells separate 'terminal block' prodcuts that have spring or screw terminal for connecting discrete wires to signals and a cable type connector for going to the DAQ device. A terminal block is just a device to make it simpler to route signals to the DAQ board itself.
