Dear Friends,
I want to know if it is possible to compile LabVIEW VIs to MS Windows services so that it can run on the background.
The VI will include the following features:
- Reading, writing MySQL server;
- Creating / opening / Writing / Creating Graphs in MS EXCEL
- The users should be able to bring the service to the for-ground, changing parameters
- Some curve fitting, numeric analysis sub-vis.
Many Thanks In Advance,
Jing Zhang

Hi JingZhang,
maybe it´s enough for you to hide the vi and run it in background, but if not see this link please.
Hope it helps.

You can't bring a Service to the foreground, they can't have a front panel (this is so by Windows, not a LabView limitation). Propably it isn't a Windows Service what you want, but be able to run your program in the system tray.
For this there are win-api calls necessary, and you will find already written Vis to do this. But I can't give you more information on this, as I didn't do tha before.
