color map control and application build

I am trying to build an application with color map control but  keep getting an error message indicating the color map control is in evaluation mode. We have the Professional version of Labview. What else is needed to be able to build an application with color map control?

Do you have LabVIEW Order Analysis Toolkit activated?

The Order Analysis Toolkit is now a part of the NI Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite. You will need to activate this to have access to the color map control.

Please can you recommend another control with similar capability to colormap that we can use instead of this colormap; we dont want to buy an entire toolkit we dont need just because of one control. If there is a way to build a vi from scratch to do the same task let me know.

If you are not going to use a colormap, a comprable replacement would be to use an intensity graph. According to the LabVIEW 2009 help, the colormap.xctl is a 'customizable intensity graph with a rainbow color scale.'

It would be hard to build a colormap VI or control yourself as according to this KnowledgeBase it is difficult to make a colormap on your own. 'The Colormap Indicators are basically Intensity Indicators with modified Intensity Maps. It would be very difficult to create the rainbow-style colormap yourself. You would need to add many additional markers and manually set the colors for each marker.'

I hope this information helps you as you develop your application.

Thanks. I will experiment with intensity graph and post my findings.
