Did you mean:

cannot save vi

I edited a vi that I created and when I went to save the changes I got the message....

Cannot save VI
The VI already exists and you do not have permission to replace it.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to why this may be the case ?

I am using LabVIEW 7.0 , I have not upgraded to 7.1 yet ( Although I have it ).

The vi was created on the same PC that I was editing it on.( not that this should be a problem )

The only 'thing' that has changed is that when I logged in this morning XP forced me to change my password.

Any help would be most appreciated

regards

Stephen

Hi stephen,
It may be due to some network security, are you able to save other vi's.if so you would be able to do this also.

Hi Vicky

Thanks for your suggestion but I should have stated that although I am connected to a network I am working on vi's local to my PC so network security should not be the problem.

I can confirm that I see this problem for all vi's that I try and edit that where created before I changed my passord !

Cheers

Steve

Did you check in the VIs properties that you still have an access to your VIs (in the security Tab)

Hi,
Then i think its got to do something with your password change,so why dont you try onething, now create a new VI and change your network password again and try to edit this VI,check if there is any problem then it is with your network security .
