cannot close application?

I have an application that allows the user to call and open different windows (other vi's).  When no window or vi is called then i can close the applciation by right clicking on the application instance on the task bar and selecting close.......however when another window is called then I cannot do this, right clicking on the applciation instance in taskbar does nothing....how can i fix this?

• Is the subVI window set to "modal"? (e.g. dialog mode)
• Is the subVI called inside an event set to "lock front panel until event completes"?
