can not see GPIB device in visa resouce name list

I use labview to control Tak DPO 7104 scope through GPIB. I can see Tek DPO scope in MAX as GPIB instrument GPIB0::1::INST. But I can not find this GPIB instrument in labview visa resource name list. I/O name filtering, choose "Only for Resources that VISA fins".

Please help how to resolve it.

you must be in Version 7.0 or 7.1.  Right-click in the VISA referance.  Right click in the drop-down and select refresh list

No. I have the latest version LV 8.6.

You can still refresh your VISA list in LV 8.6. Just click the down arrow on the VISA Resource control and select "Refresh" from the bottom of the list of devices. You may also want to check if the device has an Alias in MAX (Select the device under GPIB in Devices & Interfaces and the VISA Alias should be under the Device Type).The VISA Resource control will most likely be showing the VISA Alias and not the address to the device.

If that still doesn't work, check that "All Systems Configured on this Machine" is selected in the "Where to search for VISA resources" section of the Advanced tab in the I/O Filtering... option you get when right-clicking the VISA Resource control.

What version of VISA do you have installed? And,  just to verify, you are using an NI GPIB controller and you are using NI-VISA and not one from another company?

Now I have Labview prof 8.6, I do not have any other GPIB controller in my computer. But I am not sure if DPO7104 have tektronix GPIB controller.

Sorry, but that does not make any sense to me. You must have a GPIB controller in the PC and I was asking you iif it was one from NI. A simple yes or no will do. The scope cannot have a GPIB controller. I asked which verison of VISA you were using. I already knew which version of LabVIEW you have.

You said you were controlling the scope with GPIB. At one end of a fat cable, you have your scope. At the other end of the fat cable (at the pc end) is the GPIB controller.
