can not find hp4912

Solved!

Hi, All,

I am tryint to program with hp4912A LF IMPEDANCE ANALYZER.

I used KUSB-488A to connect the instrument to my computer. I downloaded and installed the driver for KUSB-488A and the computer did detect this device. So I opened the labview 2010 (I am also attaching the software I installed) and scan for instrument. And it showed that " no connected instrument detected".

What else should I do?

Thanks,

Joyce

Well,

First - according to your screen capture- you failed to install the device drivers.  NI-VISA and NI-488.   without at least the NI488 driver you will not be able to use NI products  to talk to the device.

Simple fix- pop in the Device Drivers dvd and install them.  Or download from here

Do I then still need KUSB-488A driver from Keithley?

Thanks,

Joyce

Probably, I would not uninstall them, Hard to say without experimenting.  You definatly need to install NI Device Drivers.  You may need to do other things but, VISA support for LabVIEW seems pretty important for now.Smiley Wink

So I installed all the drivers from NI.

When I plugged the KUSB-488A, the windowns can not identify the device. From MAX, the device is not detected either. I tried to install KUSB-488A driver, it says that it conflicts with NI 488.2. Should I delet NI 488.2 and install KUSB-488A driver?

many thanks,

Joyce
