cam3 doesnt load in labview

In the Measurement and Automation Explorer, it shows up, and seems to work fine, but for some reason I can seem to load it with IMAQ in a labview program (I have tried the example IMAQdx files). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this working?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Can you specifiy the camera model that you are using?

Depending on the camera you have to install other drivers

I am using a Playstation Eye, but it works with MAX (shows up as cam3) it also works with Vision Acquisition, but it doesnt seem to work with IMAQ, IMAQdx (doesnt show up on the examples - and crashes when I type in the name manually, complaining that such a camera can not be found).

Hi,

Now I can help you. Your playstation camera has USB 2.0. interface so you have to install the driver IMAQ for USB cameras.

And here you have an example to grab images from a USB camera using IMAQ:

https://forums.ni.com/t5/Archive-TKB/NI-IMAQ-for-USB-Snap-and-Save-Image-with-USB-Camera/ta-p/352333...

I hope this helps.
