Hi!
Is there a way to build an executable, or sometingth that works as a standalone, without the Application Builder? Maybe an application distribution library running over the run-time engine?
Thanks for helping 🙂

Hi Isabel,
What do you mean by "without the Application Builder"? Once you create an executable, all you need is the Run-Time Engine.
When you build, you can choose to include the Run-Time Engine. Or if you know that it is already installed, you can build without it (basically create an exe, only). It is useful to create an installer which simplifies the task of installing the Run-Time Engine, etc..
The other thing to know is which version of LV are you using.. The steps of creating an executable have DRAMATICALLY changed since LV8.x. (The CAPS are intended for NI).. You need to do extra steps such as creating a project, etc,,,,etc,,,etc,,,etc,,,etc,,,etc,, (sorry... it used to be simpler to create exe's... - sigh - )..

If you look on the toolbar and go to Tools > Build Application or Shared Library (DLL)
Above is for Pre-LV8.x
LV8.x => Tools > Build Executable.
Does it show that I preferred pre-LV8?? 😉
