..."Lynn was sending her attachment"...

HIS attachment.

My mother liked the name so her son got it.

Thanks for the compliment, tbob.

Ha ha ha ha...

I just LOVE that...

I'm just sorry CC is on vacation and not around to see this, but I'll be sure to send HIM a link.
I am sorry I won't be able to see his face when he sees this.

Thanks, you get 5 stars.

Hey Johnsold

Thanks for that great example, I'm slowly getting a hold of using shift registers. Is there a good place to learn about state machine ? Also where can one start if he wants to learn how to handle errors and clusters etc.

Thanks once again

I've got egg on my face.  Sorry Lynn.  I know both men and women named Lynn, I don't know why I assumed your were a female?????  Maybe I was secretly hoping you were a hotty and that I would meet you in person some day.  Well, so much for that...

There are some examples of state machines which ship with LV. Also search the archives. As for the error clusters, look at some of the high level DAQ VIs. Many of those use the error clusters for both controlling the sequence of execution (Configure port, configure buffer, start, read, close) and for bypassing attempts to do soemthing if an error had occurred previously. Some VIs may be better at this than others, so look at several. There probably will not be any explanation of this so you may have to study what is done a bit. I have not looked at the Tutorial, but since using error clusters and dataflow is fundamental to the way LV works, these topics may be covered there.
