blue dot in numeric constant

Hi there,

 

Just a quick question - I'm not sure what the blue dot is next to the number 30. Image is attached.

It's the radix of the number, and it's not a "dot" - it's an "x" as in "hex", like 0x30.  😉

 

That means the number you are looking at is displayed as a hex number.  Go ahead and click on it and you can choose all kinds of integer representations, like binary, octal, decimal (meaning "base10 integer" not a fractional number like 2.5), and you'll see the number change to match.  it's important to note that the value isn't changing, it's how it's being represented that changes.

 

It looks like a dot?  Maybe you need a new monitor, or you need to get some glasses.  😉  Sorry, I couldn't resist.  😄
