Hi Niko,
National Instruments currently has a web interface discussion forum called the Developer Exchange. In the Developer Exchange, people go by their alias name, which they choose upon subscribing. When you post a question in the Developer Exchange, it is also sent to NNTP servers. In order for the questions to get posted in the newsgroups, the user needs an email address. For the privacy of the Developer Exchange users, the email address is written as [alias x@no.email]. So when you see this email format, it is a question originally posted in the Developer Exchange.
So why do so many people use the Developer Exchange? The Developer Exchange has options that are not available in newsgroups. For instance, you can subscribe to a question to be no
tified when there is any activity regarding the question. No more having check periodically to see if anyone has responded. You can also subscribe to categories (labview, daq, etc.).
You should definitely check out the Developer Exchange discussion forum. To navigate there through www.ni.com, go to Technical Support, then in Option 3 you click on Discussion Forums. I've also included the link below.
