So after a format, the disk drive size shows up correctly? When does it start showing the wrong free space on the disk, is it random or right after you install software on the 8106? If you'd like to check the integrity of the hard disk drive, you could use some sort of bootable disk drive checker. I found a program that claims to do that right here. I haven't personally used this program, but it seems to be a very popular search result. Perhaps try running that utility and see if your hard disk has any errors.
