Why are the sub VI's within an example clones?

Bear with me if this is a really obvious question....but I'm new to this.

I've found an example with the example finder that will be great groundwork for my application but all the sub VI's are cloned.  Why is this?  I'd like to be able to modifiy them to customize them for my application.

Thanks

When the title bar says a VI is a clone, it means it's one instance (a virtual copy) of a re-entrant VI.  Take a look at the help for a full explanation of re-entrant VIs.  To bring up the master copy of the VI, open one of the clones and then hit Control-M.

I guess i'm too late

it is a clone if it is designated reentrant

you can change this in the vi properties  under the execution menu but reenrant will run multiple instances of the vi if you use it in different places within your program

ctrl-M will let you edit the origional vi when it opens as a clone
