What is the difference between the different filters that are predefined in Labview(equi-ripple, FIR, Butterworth, etc). How do I get their freq responses?

Which filter should I use if I am trying to design a Bandpass filter for a passband freq range between 50-100Hz? I don't understand the difference betweenthe equi-ripple,butterworth and fir filters. I thought that I could use any one of these. Is there any way to find the frequency responces of the predefined Filters that are available on labview.

The actual frequency response of your filter is returned by the VI as "filter information". It is a cluster that contains both the magnitude and phase responses of your filter so you can for example unbundle the magnitude cluster and simply pass it to a waveform graph.

You can find more details on the difference between the different filters in the LabVIEW Analysis Concept manual. Go to Start>>Programs>>National Instruments>>LabVIEW x.y>>>Search the LabVIEW Bookshelf. Then in the Concept and Techniques section select the Analysis Concept document (name may vary depending on your LabVIEW version). There you'll find a chapter on Digital Filters.
