I am a beginner on xcontrol, and I am trying to come up with an idea of a useful xcontrol for practice. I thought it would be useful to create a graph with a ring control that will take a 2d array for multiple graph, and I can select which graph to disply with the ring control. Would that be a good practice example for an xcontrol? Are there other features that I should add to it?

For a good introduction to xControl stuff, I like https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA03q000000x2jVCAQ&l=en-US .
I'd say you're on the right track as far as features go. Although I'm not an expert in xControls, I can tell you that muddling through for the sake of learning is definitely the way to go! Usually for me when I get started working on something like that, I just start making something completely useless and it leads to knowledge+something useful. Not sure I have any cool ideas at the moment, but I'll let you know if I think of one!
