Our university requires a VPAT before we can renew Labview. Any ideas where to get the latest one?
==========================================================================================================================================
Unfortunately, the VPAT/ACR that we received was completed 5 years ago and only included the Section 508 criteria, though it stated WCAG 2.0 criteria was included. The latest release date for the software I see was January 23, 2025, so I'm sure there have been quite a few updates completed between 2020 and now which could have impacted your accessibility conformance.
According to the Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 213, we are required to ensure that all Electronic and Information Resources comply with WCAG 2.0 accessibility conformance criteria prior to procurement/renewal/use of the solution. I know it is a common misconception that it only applies to websites and mobile applications, but TAC 213.1 Applicable Terms and Technologies for EIR provides a more thorough explanation of the solutions that must comply.
Since an accessibility review with regard to the Texas Administrative Code regulations has not been completed before, review of accessibility documentation is required for renewal to proceed.
Please make every effort to provide the required documentation so we can move the request forward through the renewal procurement process as quickly as possible.
A blank copy of the VPAT may be obtained with this link: https://www.itic.org/policy/accessibility/vpat Please choose the VPAT 2.5 508 link.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Is this real? I hear a lot of bashing about EU regulations but this sounds ridiculous.
So if I sell a software that your university wants to use under an academic license that costs almost nothing I do have to fill in a form to certify that I have not violated some arbitrary rules?

Hi,
if this is real then NI (residing in Austin/TX) should be able to help you with those Texas regulatory papers…
You should contact them directly instead of posting in the worldwide public forum, mainly filled by non-NI volunteers!

It seems a spam post of some sorts. The two first links point to a page that states that the requested information has moved to a new place, which then redirects to a generic search page, where you are supposed to know what you are looking for. So clear indication of a recycled post most likely copied from some other older forum post somewhere. The last link points to the ITI site were is clearly states that VPAT stands for Voluntary Product Accessibility Template. The way this post is setup, it makes it however appear as if there is absolutely nothing voluntary about it.
So either some über-eager administrative person at the university or state level has declared some voluntary document mandatory for some reason or it is a hoax.

Seems pretty niche for a spam post. A quick search for "Accessibility Conformance Report labview" brings up this document which is a bit more recent. If you look at the URL and go to ni.com/regulatory on a hunch, it redirects you to https://www.ni.com/en-us/shop/resources/gsa-regulatory-documents.html, where you can find these reports for different NI software. I have no idea how to find that site without external search.

Thanks for the link. It was very helpful. I have requested NI for the updated complete VPAT document and hope they will respond.
For the other posters - this is not SPAM. I teach at a university in Texas and we are trying to follow the state regulations. The reason for the post here is that I did not get any response from NI Sales and other departments.

I would also recommend sending an official letter from the university to NI requesting a response.
