Vision Assistant: Invalid image type

I'm trying to build an inspection with the Vision Assistant 7.0! For a first step, I try to use already-made pictures of a standard digital camera. The manual says, that jpg, bmp and other formats are supported and there's no size limit for the pics, but everytime i try to use an algorithm on a picture i get the error message: invalid image type. The type of the image aquired is not supported by this step.
Concretely I try to open a series of pictures from a directory and after that I try to use the "Find straight edge" function from the machine vision category.
Has anyone an idea what might be the reason for this error? As I am an absolute beginner, I guess it is my fault, not a programme error.

Hope anyone can help me a little,
Thanks in advance from Germany
Andreas

Thank you for your support. Unfortunately I use LV 7.0 and was not able to open your vi. But I found the error myself!
If you export the inspection to lv-code as a vi, you can see, that vision builder sets the type of image as 8-bit. but
as i use a standard jpeg, i have to select the rgb option. as i don't think you were able to get my point from this elementary style of english, i attach my vi.
always remember: broken english is the language of science!
kind regards from germany,
