Using compact fieldpoint for data Aquisition. Need Help

Hello all. Its been a while since i have used Labview (about 2 or 3 years), so this new version 8.6 is really new to me.  I have also never used any of the cFP stuff.  So basically i will need to create a very basic data aquistion type program which should not be a huge problem, but i dont even know where to set the sampling rate for the cPP modules.   Initially i will just be using two small load cells, but eventually that will be expanded to 8.  Do i just set up the timing withen in my loops? I have also never used the real time modules so if they are needed i guess i have a lot of catching up to do.  Any tips or good reads would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes.  You would set up the data acquistion timing by way of your loop timing.  cFP doesn't use DAQmx, but the fieldpoint subVIs such as FPread and FPwrite.

If you have specific questions, you may want to post them in the Fieldpoint forum.  http://forums.ni.com/ni/board?board.id=110

I was reading the manual, is the sampling rate really limited to 1s?

Okay ravens, i will post a question over there, thanks!.

It depends on the device.  For thermocouple modules, 1 second sounds about right.  Other modules might have a faster rate on the order of milliseconds, but no faster than that.

Its the CFP-SG-140 module. Looks like im gonna have to go a different route hardware wise.
