Using LabVIEW Mac OSX with Agilent 34401a and/or Kiethley 196

Hi all,

I am currently doing project planning, and have found that there are labview drivers to work with these two different multimeters. I currently have a Mac; would I be able to use my computer for this purpose? I've seen online that Labview is harder to use with outside hardware, so I wanted to know if I should just borrow someone else's computer (student licenses).

Both of those instruments support either a physical GPIB or serial connection.  As long as your MAC has the VISA and NI488 drivers installed, you have either a USB-GPIB adaptor or GPIB card installed or use the proper serial cable then you should be able to do it just as easily as with a PC.

The LabVIEW drivers for those instruments make it very easy to control them.
