Using LVMerge with LabVIEW 8.2

Currently we have a project running on LabVIEW 8.2.1 but we would like to setup a source control management system for our source code. Ideally we are looking for a merge tool like LVMerge however this is only available in 8.5.

• Is it possible to use/install the LVMerge tool from 8.5 in an 8.2.1 environment?
  
• How would I go about this?
  
• Are there any other merge options?

Did you try MS Visual Source Safe or Perforce ?

Sorry Partha, maybe my question wasn't detailed enough. I have set up subversion to correctly work with LVDiff so that I can diff changes in VI. What I now need is a visual merge tool of some sort to complete the picture. LVMerge would do the job, but unfortunately we are working with 8.2.1. So what I want to know is:

• are other merge tools for LabVIEW?
• can I make LVMerge work with 8.2.1

There are plenty of source code control tools... but that was not your question.  No, there is no merge prior to LV8.5.  I would have two questions for you.  Since you appear to have 8.5, why not upgrade your project?  You are talking about making changes anyway (I assume this since you want to merge code), if you can not upgrade the project, you could merge your changes in 8.5 and save for prior version... but what a pain!
As far as source code control, MS source safe works well in many environments, but support is limited.  I have used perforce, subversion (free), and clear case.  They all have their pros and cons.
