Using DMM across channels

Hi,

I am trying to measure the output voltage across channels. I am currently using a NI 2627 multiplexer to switch (shown below). I have cables connected to the negative terminals of channels 0 to 15. To measure the voltage across cables 1 and 2 for example, I short 1+ and 2- together. This way when I measure the voltage across channel 2 it measures the voltage between cables 1 and 2.

Is there a better way to do this, because I would like to be able to measure the voltage between channels 1 and 3, 1 and 4 etc. without having a wire connection between these terminals. Is that possible, or is NI SWITCH limited to scan individual channels only?

Thanks for the help,

Abby.

You are seeing a limitation of using a Multiplexer.  What you really need is a Crosspoint Matrix.  Then you can have your DMM+ on row 0 and DMM- on row 1.  You can then connect whatever channel to the desired row.
