Using Access HW VI's in LabVIEW 7.0

hi All,

when I was Using LV 6.1 I was able to read a Key value directly from the keyboard using the "In port" VI after installing the "Access HW" Libraries which replaced the original "In port" and "Out port" VI's that cames with LabVIEW.

now I'm trying to do the same on LV 7.0 over Windows XP but with no succcess either with the VI's implicit on LV  7.0 or replacing them installing the Access HW libraries.

did some body had success using those????

I have no personal experience with the vis you are asking about... but as I am sure you are aware, in the programing world, there are 10 ways to skin the dog... so to speak. What is your end goal, maybe we can attack that?

hi Stradis,

my end goal is to be able to read for example a "key" value from the keyboard when you press a key.

in other words and as a manner of example on my test program I'm giving certain set up instructions to the machine operator, once he made the correct set up he needs to press the key "Enter" on the keyboard to continue the test while the Vi is waiting on a While loop for that key to be pressed to exit the loop and continue the test.

I was able to do that on LV 6.1 whit the "in port" VI but looks like that function is not sipported on LV 7.0 which I am using now.

hope that clarifies my question.

any other example to do that is appreciated.

Dukmarivan.

see here and here.  This should put you on the road to success.  It will take a bit of playing, but this is easily done.
