Update Service

Why does the 'Update Service' program seem to run indefinitely on my computer?

I get the 'pop-up' that says that it needs to update my NI, but when I allow it to perform its operation... the Update Service seems to run forever, but never completes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Check this article [link removed; article no longer available]. You need to update the update service.

(You also did not tell us your OS, but you might later need to configure it to to run it as administrator.)

I'm running Windows XP

I'll file that right next to my solar powered flashlight.
