A few things in LabVIEW use UTF-16LE with a BOM.  Such as the elements in a Tree control (I gave an example).  Also, the headers of listboxes, multicolumn listboxes, and tables; as well as the item names of  listboxes & multicolumn listboxes, and the elements of tables.

For objects that have a text object whose properties you can access, just set the "Interpret as Unicode" property to TRUE for all characters (it's like a font spec and can be different for different characters), then just send a UTF-16 LE string (without a BOM).

I just discovered this: If your tab control has "Make Page Caption Match Label" unchecked, and you select a tab caption with the text tool, you can paste in a Unicode string (must be UTF-16LE with a BOM).
