Unable to uninstall NXG5

Enthused by the announcement of the free Community edition of NXG5, I downloaded the 4.2Gb installation file.

And started installing. Not a good experience as it god stuck so many times unable to find some files and asking for licence confirmation each time. It was so frustrating and anyway finally when it asked for one more file, I just shut it and rebooted.

Now NXG5 can be launched but it insists its on 1 week evaluation. Cannot do anything more.

Thinking enough is enough , I wanted to uninstall NXG5.  But not possible. Its not listed as a module to uninstall in NIPM.

Please help to unload NXG5 off my PC. Thanks

I've never tried to uninstall NXG.  Thus far, I've always installed them on their own VM, and when I gave up on them, I simply deleted the VM.

There are ways to safely install LabVIEW, which I think would work with NXG.  In brief:

  1. Open Control Panel.  Go to Programs and Features, find National Instruments Software, and select it.  It should bring up NIPM.  Be sure "Products Only" is not checked.  Try to Remove everything (it won't let you select NIPM, that's OK).  Remove all, reboot.
  2. Repeat Step 1.  If there is nothing more to remove, exit and go to Step 3.
  3. Open Control Panel, Programs and Features, NI Package Manager.  Tell NIPM to remove itself (it must be the only thing showing).  Accept the warning, remove, reboot.
  4. You should now have no installed NI Software on your machine.  It is now safe to remove National Instruments folders from Programs and Features and from Program Data.  Do not mess with the Windows Registry.
  5. If you are going to do a reinstall, you can (and probably should) skip Step 4.

Interesting.  I've had exactly the opposite experience.  It installed without asking me for anything, and it activated without issue.  It sounds as if the iso image was not properly mounted.
