USB - RS232

Hi, im in the mids of writing a turbine simulation program for my work. its basically a glorafied function gen, that genertates two pulse trains one of whih can have its phase changed etc etc. i plan on using the application builder to make this a standalone app for my collegues to use too. my question is, i am the only person who has a DAQmx, NIUSB. would my comrads need to purchase someting simmilar or is there another method for implemnting this? i have, as do most ppl at my work, have a usb - RS232 adpater lead. could this be used instead of teh DAq? if not, are there other aveneues i could go down, preferably cheap!

Hi,

If you are writing an application using NI-DAQmx with a USB device such as a 6008/9 then when you distribute this application as a standalone executable you'll need to ensure that the users of your application have such a device, or an NI-DAQmx device that is as capable of generating/acquiring the signals your application needs.

hi, ye, i have a niusb 6008 already, i was ust wondering if there was a method of communicating withoutthat, perhaps to a usb -rs232 cable. buts its ok. my boss has seen the potential of labview! and has decided to get a stack of the 6008.
