USB-6009 is not being recognized in MAX

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I am doing a lab at school and I downloaded Labview and NI-DAQmx Device Driver for my computer. Plugged in the NI USB 6009 windows 7 begain the new hardware screen, found the driver and said it was working correctly. I go into MAX and there is not a USB DAQ listed under the devices and interfaces. Any ideas

Thanks

Check as well under "Data Neighborhood" and what you have. Try to post a picture what you have there.

Here are a couple things to try:

A) Refresh MAX: Either View>>Refresh or the F5 key

B) Device loader service is not started: In Windows go to Start>>Control Panel>>Administrative Tools>>Services. Scroll down to "NI Device Loader" and make sure the service is started. You may need to close and re-open MAX to see your device.

If those don't fix it, post back on this thread and we can work out a more specific solution.

Hi mohd,

What version of the DAQmx driver are you using? Is your device recognized by Windows? To check this go to Control Panel>>Device Manager.

What version of LabVIEW are you using? If you're working with LabVIEW 8.6 or higher I would suggest upgrading your DAQmx driver to version 9.4.0. You can find it at this link.

Another question: are you using Windows 7 or XP? If you're on XP, there is a hotfix from Microsoft that is available here.

Hi,

I'm having problems detecting my USB-6009 at all.  When I plug it in an error comes up that says "Windows could not load the installer for DAQDevice." and then goes to a new hardware wizard that is unable to find the drivers also.  I am running Windows XP 64-bit and have DAQmx 9.4 installed.  I checked in MAX and "NI-DAQmx Device Driver 9.4" appears under software.  I did not install the hotfix that Tim mentioned because my computer is not crashing and I am not getting the errors mentioned on microsoft's site.  Not sure where to go from here...

Thanks for any help!
