UDPwrite lock up when called fast (LINUX)

you already know about UDPwrite locking up if called fast in a loop.  i found this bugfix listed as a fix from 8.5 to 8.5.1 (4CKGJ6Q7 on this page: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/6449#65723/4CKGJ6Q7%20by%20Category)... and so switched from 8.5 to 8.5.1.

however i am unable to reproduce the original problem i encountered in 8.5, in Linux.  the original issue was seen in WIndows.  there is much more packet loss -- is LV 8.5 Linux immune to the problem?  the end result is -- must i update all deployed software in Linux ,or just WIndows?

Hi Ruelvt,

The original problem was only reported in Windows, the bug apparently was not ever a bug on Linux systems.  Because it has now been fixed, if you upgrade to 8.5.1 and continue to use Windows you should be fine.  If you do not upgrade to 8.5.1 then you would have to use Linux to avoide the problem.  I would recommend upgrading your LabVIEW version on distributed software rather than the operating system.

Thanks for clearing it up.

I actually have deployed systems in Windows and Linux.  I have updated to 8.5.1 on Windows, and after your response I do not feel the urgent need to update from 8.5 to 8.5.1 on Linux just yet.
