Two input counters and two output counter on 9174 chassis with 9401 module

Hi,

Trying to control two DC motors, each driven by a PWM and a DIR line, and each with encoder with A/B lines output.

Using cDAQ 9174 and 9401 module. I would like to use all 4 counters available in the 9174, two for PWM output, and two for encoder input.

I need 4 inputs and 4 outputs to achieve the above task, meaning all inputs can be either on PFI0-3 or on PFI4-7.

Looking at the 9401 pinout, there is no combination that will route the A/B lines from both motors into either the top nibble or bottom nibble.

Is this correct? Do I need two 9401 modules for this?

Thanks.

I have used a 9401 in that manner, you should just need 1.

Given this pinout:

Counter Outputs:  16 (CTR2) & 19 (CTR0)

Counter Inputs:   23 (CTR3 Gate) & 22 (CTR1 Gate)

Thanks for the reply.

The input counters each need to accept both A and B lines from the quadrature encoders.
