I installed a new version of NI package manager this morning, as it was for some reason needed to install the latest PXI Platform Services.
I had look in MAX this to check that it was installed. The built my application (where I wanted to include the new platform services, as it's finally including the fix for Thunderbolt, so I could avoid supplying the customer some NI beta driver to fix this)
Tonight when trying to open NI MAX, it hangs at initialization. Exactly what I want to play with a Friday night....
So. After restarting the computer a few times, I concluded that I have to try to repair NI MAX again... But getting this prompt.
two questions:
1. Why is NI package manager dependent of JKI VI package manager. (I'm assuming that NI package manager is JKI Package manager with a fancy skin)
2. How do I find that installation media? I can only find exe installers the prompt is asking for some other file endings ...

Feel I'm stuck in a hole here..
I can't repair MAX. And uninstalling requires uninstallation of ALL NI packages in NI package manager...
Seriously?
Is there any way of handling NI packages directly in VIPM? As it seems NIPM is just a halfassed skin to VIPM.

Not that it will help you, but NI Package Manager definitely is not a variant of the JKI VI package manager...

That makes it even less understandable why it's needed to repair MAX.
I found a file on the harddrive that the package manager accepted. But MAX is still stuck. Guess I have a few hours of re-installing all NI software today. 👌
