Q1. When I use the TrendTags.vi, will that report output tags also (AO, DO).

Q2. When I use WriteTag.vi to write a signal directly to an OUTPUT tag within my code (i.e. turn solenoid valve on) will that action be reflected in my front panel object which is linked using HMI wizard?

One important thing to remember in LVDSC is that Tags are always processed in the Engine. And all Tags get their values from the Engine. So, at any given time, there's only one value for a Tag.

So, if a Tag's value is changed (whether it's because of the change in the actual value in the field, or a user change), all other objects connected to this Tag will reflect this change.

To answer your questions based on this:

1> Yes. The Output Tags' values are obtained from the Engine and reported by this TrendTags.VI

2> Yes. If you have a Control and an Indicator on a Panel tied to the same Tag, these will, normally, reflect the change as well.
