The software i'm using is not Modbus/TCP compatible, need other option to stream data.

The other option I have is to use software to log data to files on the PC and have my LabVIEW programme read the data from those files.

I want to read data in real time, however I can only read data once the file/s are saved. I can't read the file simultaneously while the software is logging data.

Is there a way to read data in real time or mimic as LabView is reading real time data once the file is saved or paused the software.

Thank you.

The short answer is yes. However no one will be able to give you any specific information because you provided absolutely no details about the equipment or software you are using. Do you have documentation for your device? It should provide details regarding the protocol it is using to communicate.

Thank you Mark for your promptly response.

The software is call smartSoft/smartScan.

The architecture of  SmartScope interrogator together with SmartSoft software.

The SmartScope transmits full spectrum data to the PC, where SmartSoft runs peak detection functions that generate the centre wavelengths for the FBGs senosor and, if required, conversion of FBG shifts to measurands such as temperature and strain.

Therefore you cannot directly connect  LabVIEW software to the interrogator but you can access the centre wavelengths or processed sensor data that SmartSoft generates.

Thank you.

Hi!

I don´t have the software to my 8 Channel Interrogator - could you maybe send me a copy of yours?

I have an INSENSYS device, but it seems to use SmartSoft from Smart Fibres Ldt.

Yours,

lo
