Could you tell me a little more about your setup? Do you happen to be running RedHat with LabVIEW 7.0?
To my knowledge, this issue has been fixed in LabVIEW 7.1.
You might also be seeing something similar if you installed LabVIEW into a non-standard location.
If you run LabVIEW as root, does it work as expected? Also, even though you get that message, are you still able to browse the examples and open them? Or does the example finder not come up at all?
Let me know what distribution, kernel, and version of LabVIEW you are running and I'll try to figure out what is going on.
