Sync encoder position to instrument voltage and write to a file

Hi,

I'm new to LABVIEW (and programming) and was hoping that someone out their could help. I have a cRIO

9073 with a 9411 cSeries module reading an encoder and a 9201 reading voltage from an instrument. 

I want to synchronize encoder position with voltage output and write the results to a text file so that it shows a voltage for every N encoder positions.  I've written an FPGA and RealTime vi (one each) that more or less does

this but my text file is not correct and the whole thing is quite clunky.  Any suggestions on how to accomplish this task in an elegant way would be most appreciated.

This seems like a pretty straightforward application.  There are many examples in the example finder that show how to read voltage and digital inputs with cRIO.  Is there any particular problems you are having?  And what do you mean the text file is not correct?
